Le Café FrancaisBienvenue! The Café RESTEZ!unique is a place of passions. French pastries made in Kiel and directly traded coffee, soft chansons and lots of atmosphere, a little art, very nice people and a haven of peace in the middle of Kiel's city centre.
The RESTEZ!unique, centrally located between Kaistrasse and Sophienhof, main station and ZOB, is your little oasis. Still time until the next train or a break from shopping? Or just a coffee to take with you on your walk to the cruise ship. And for those of you who have to get back to work: here you'll also find electricity and Wi-Fi to go with your coffee.

Good Morning! You're hungry?
In the morning, the counter is filled to the brim with all kinds of sweet and savoury treats from RESTEZ. Our recommendation: take a look and choose whatever you fancy. For on the road or on site, we have high-quality French sandwiches for you, e.g. with Corsican salami and Swiss Gruyère. Yoghurt, crunchy and fruit salad, butter, jam, honey and cream cheese ... all portioned for you in a jar and without individual packaging.
For all those who like to top their rolls themselves: "Jacques" and "Jacqueline" is the name of our small selection of cold cuts. Here you have what you need and like in the morning!

Many guests of the unique by ATLANTIC Hotel Kiel also know Jacques and Jacqueline as a "snack in the morning" and book in advance.
You decide when the morning or afternoon ends for you. We are there for you until 6:00 pm!

How about cake?
Enchanting tartlets and tempting tartelets come from the RESTEZ patisserie. There are all kinds of fruity variations, lots of chocolate, mousse and meringue. A touch of Paris in the middle of Kiel!
And a delicious café au lait with Loppokaffee espresso, directly imported and roasted in Kiel, and a choice of rieckens landmilch or oat foam. This is also unique: here, filter coffee dreams come true. The filter coffee from the bean of your choice is freshly ground and brewed individually per cup. It doesn't get any fresher than this!

Waffles – Sweet or savoury?
The sweet Belgian classic: a fragrant waffle with a sweet topping – how about red fruit jelly, cream, vanilla sauce, maple syrup or Nutella?
The savoury waffles come in three delicious variations:
- Mediterranean salad and herb sour cream
- Warm camembert and cranberries
- The "Kiel salmon waffle" with smoked salmon and mustard-dill sauce
Strong partners in the RESTEZ!unique
The Kiel Boulangerie artisanale, founded with much love in 2009. Here, a lot is kneaded and baked by hand, according to French recipes and with French ingredients.
- BOULANGERIE - Freshly handmade rolls to satisfy your morning hunger.
- VIENNOISEIRE - Croissants, brioches, pains au chocolat, jesuites, chouquettes ... Flour plays a role here, as well as plenty of sugar, butter and egg. The focus here is solely on enjoyment!
- PRÊT À MANGER - Hearty pastries, baked hot and topped with olives or dried tomatoes, tuna, ham or salmon.
- PÂTISSERIE - Tempting tartelettes and tarts with all kinds of fruit and lots of nougat and chocolate
Coffee from Kiel. Directly traded and roasted in our own roastery. Served first-hand on a coffee bicycle at Kiel's weekly markets and in the café at Graßweg 8. And at RESTEZ!unique.
Loppokaffee consistently focuses on sustainability and quality. Axel and his team buy their coffee directly from the cooperatives in the countries of origin, often in organic quality. Loppokaffee makes our lives better and also the lives of the coffee farmers.
At RESTEZ!unique you can enjoy espresso - and therefore also cappuccino, café au lait etc. - handmade from the LA MARZOCCO portafilter machine. Delicious filter coffee of different varieties is freshly ground and brewed for you individually per cup.
Coffee and all kinds of accessories are available in the Grasweg and in the online shop.
North German-inspired tea with sea value that comes up with a holistic concept. Fine tea blends in organic quality, which are pre-portioned for you as loose tea in a pillow bag. The tea mug with lid is also available in other motifs in the shop.
Riecken's Eichhof is located a good 10 kilometres south of Kiel. Certified according to DE-ÖKO-006, around 70 cows live here, fed exclusively with home-grown fodder or fodder of regional origin. Happy and healthy animals and valuable food of exceptional quality that you can taste!
The Riecken family supplies us with milk, yoghurt and cream cheese in reusable packaging. This saves us and the world several hundred tetrapacks every month.
Among other things, we had bought the chocolate coating for our hot chocolate from the unverpacktladen in Kiel. It's a pity that the shop has been closed since 01.01.2023. What remains: We continue to buy almost all products in bulk, many of them in reusable packaging.
A naturally fresh artisanal lemonade from the Maison Rieme in Morteau. In its homeland, La Martuacienne is THE artisanal lemonade par excellence, but it is rarely found in other European countries. We are proud and happy to be able to offer it to you and thank the company Jörgen Petersen & Sohn for providing it for us.
